The MTS Running Evaluation

We are running experts for all stages of life

Get to know our therapist...

Dr. Caitlyn Hauswirth-Varis started her running career in high school - she is personally experienced in almost all track and field events 800m down. She continued in college with the varsity team (where she still holds the school records in both indoor and outdoor pole vault). Now she continues to run anything and everything 1/2 marathon and down, and has found a passion for helping those who want to do the same.

Where form meets function

01

Range of Motion and Strength Assessment

Baseline strength and range of motion measurements will be taken. Each piece of the assessment is related to various parts of the running gait cycle, and deficits can begin to paint a picture of what you can do to improve.

02

Motor Control Assessment

Running is a single leg sport - we will bring you through a variety of tests that will look at your ability to function on one leg. It's not just your ability to perform the task - it's HOW you perform the task.

03

Running Form Assessment

You will run on the treadmill - this will be recorded and analyzed for key metrics related to running form and injury risk.

Create a Customized Plan

We analyze the results from our battery of tests and come up with a plan specific to you and your goals. Depending on how you are doing before the evaluation, the treatment plan can vary from very hands on and involved, to almost completely remote.

This can include:

1

Customized strength program

2

Customized mobility program

3

Customized plyometrics program

4

Customized running program

5

Running drills to address form

6

Series of 1-on-1 PT sessions
