SESSION AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Sessions are 50 minutes of one-on-one treatment time with your therapist. We strive to give each of our patients our full attention during his or her appointment. Sessions will begin on time. Late arrivals are responsible for the full fee of the session. There is no charge for cancellations 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations less than 24 hours before are subject to a late cancellation fee of $75. If you schedule an appointment, which you do not attend (no show), and this happens more than once, you will be charged fully for this visit.
MTS is out-of-network with all insurance companies. This means you will pay up-front for each session. At this point, as a courtesy, we will confirm your insurance benefits for you. We will give you a superbill and you can then submit your claims to your insurance company and if you have out-of-network benefits any reimbursement will be paid to you directly by your insurance.
We are out-of-network because insurance companies control how often patients are being seen and with continued rate decreases to providers (us), your time with the therapist shortens at each visit. We believe in delivering the highest level of care in order to achieve the best and most lasting results. You can expect to spend full sessions with your therapist performing hands-on manual therapy or movement re-education, without (as it happens at most other facilities) interruptions, being handed off to aides or other therapists, or being placed on ice, heat or a modality or other equipment for time management purposes or to fulfill maximum insurance reimbursement options.
Traditional therapists are only permitted to treat one area of complaint at a time. The result for the patient is often many sessions, many hours spent at the facility and a long time to achieve goals and return to function. Many physical problems are connected and can be addressed effectively during fewer, more focused visits. In addition, patients seen at insurance-based facilities are billed separately for any service or treatment not covered by their insurance as well as for most exercise and wellness programs. At MTS, you pay one fee for a personalized treatment that will address the cause of the pain resulting in long lasting results in shorter periods of time.
MTS is not a Medicare provider and unfortunately Medicare does not at this time allow patients to submit self-claims from a out of network provider. If Medicare is your primary insurance carrier, you will also not be able to send in your claim to or obtain payment from your secondary insurance company as they follow Medicare guidelines. The only exception would be if you have secondary insurance that includes out-of-network benefits.
Check with your insurance carrier if you have out of network benefits and give us a call if you have any questions.
You can use your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account to pay for treatment as long as your FSA or HSA card is affiliated with a major credit card.
In the state of Connecticut, we have direct access. This means that you do not need a prescription to see a manual or physical therapist.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your evaluation to complete paperwork. Please wear loose fitting comfortable attire to your therapy sessions to allow for the best hands-on treatment. Proper attire is only going to help you benefit further from the physical therapy session
